Bloomin’ Barrels of Fun

Members of artWell and our team have been delighted to partner with Festival Place and Bakehouse Factory in producing the visual art works that are on display on the Upper Floor of Festival Place between 24th July and 30th August 2024.

The artworks showcased in this project draw inspiration from the sounds and colours present in garden. They embody the ideas, thoughts and emotions shared by participants in the artWell groups ‘This Is My Space’ who face various challenges affecting their mental wellbeing and attendees of The Camrose Centre, a drop-in centre for anyone who is sleeping rough, homeless or vulnerably housed within Basingstoke and Deane.

Each piece is a product of collective effort, with every colour, shape, and material choice reflecting group collaboration. These artworks stand as genuine expressions of community spirit and creativity.

Corinne’s approach impressed me so much when I spoke to her that I invited her to visit one of the groups that I run that supports working age people with Long Term Health Conditions where she was a hit! I definitely look forward to collaborating more with Artwell in the future!
