About Us

Welcome to ArtWell, a vibrant not-for-profit community interest company dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of art for positive change.
Together, we will free the wonder of your imagination.
Founded by the passionate and talented artist Corinne Marsh, ArtWell is built on a deep understanding of the emotion of fear and its impact on individuals and society. Through her own journey of overcoming mental health challenges, Corinne discovered the immense potential of creative activities in fostering personal growth and emotional healing.

Our story

Corinne's extensive experience within Community Mental Health Teams and her research into psychological processes laid the foundation for ArtWell. What began as a personal project has blossomed into a dynamic organisation that touches all community sectors. We have evolved through dedication and an unwavering commitment to making a difference, growing from time- limited initiatives into thriving projects.

What we do

At ArtWell, we don't believe in analysing art clinically. Instead, we empower individuals to embrace their innate creativity, share the joy of artistic expression, and build self -confidence. Our multidisciplinary approach connects participants with diverse, talented artists, offering unique opportunities to explore and develop their creative voices.
Our workshops are grounded in lived experiences, fostering mutual learning and shared journeys. This genuine, exciting environment helps participants overcome and prevent mental health challenges, guided by psychologically informed practices that optimise their experiences.

Impact and reach

Our focus on mental wellbeing drives us to support survivors of life's toughest challenges, including homelessness, domestic abuse, probation, veterans, and mental health struggles. We understand the importance of a creative mind in overcoming adversity, and our testimonials reflect the profound impact of our work.
With a dedicated team of Co-Directors who have navigated their own challenges, we provide a supportive, understanding community for our participants. We 'get it' and offer a space where people can heal and grow without needing to delve into their past traumas.

Project Work

Art is a great way to spend time together playing and learning. Under the umbrella of mental health our project work supports people to overcome barriers, fulfil their potential and participate fully in their community.

Psychological wellbeing is improved through education, creative activity and shared understanding. Absolutely no experience is necessary — only a willingness to participate.

Make sense of your thoughts and do something that is fun and relaxing that boosts wellbeing, and make some great art in the process!
